"Rachael came to us through a cold open on LinkedIn. We were immediately struck by her versatility. The fact that she could effortlessly pivot from a modern cinematic vocal approach epitomised in movies like Gladiator, to contemporary pop to more of a concert-hall soprano style immediately communicated that creatively she was a musical Swiss-Army Knife - capable of fulfilling many different types of brief.
As someone who has set herself up to independently record, she is a one-stop-shop, offering a turn-key solution able to turn work around swiftly and iteratively without need of a large format studio or pro tools engineer.
By coincidence, we were working on the score for a feature film - a psychological thriller called ‘The Waterhouse’ which received its world premiere at CineWorld in London’s Leicester Square. Vocals were pivotal in the musical storytelling and we needed to create an iconic vocal signature that could be used through the film whilst fitting into a broader musical canvas that was simultaneously inspired by Delibes opera ‘Lakme’ and more contemporaneously, Johann Johansson’s ‘Drone Mass’.
To say that, Rachael knocked it out of the park is an understatement. Reviews of the film have been positive with the music drawing particular acclaim and Rachael’s haunting vocals being of particular note.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rachael to fellow composers of applied music - Film, TV, Commercials and Video Games. She is a slick operator who is completely client focused and who is able to collaboratively and swiftly turn around world class work. Fundamentally, she is a versatile and necessary instrumental colour for any composer considering a vocal approach.

"I discovered Rachael through a series of Facebook posts and was immediately drawn in by the raw beauty and epic glory of her vocals. As it happened, I was in the middle of preparing a modern cinematic film score/soundtrack for mixing, but as I listened to Rachael, I couldn't help but insert her voice, mentally, into a variety of tracks throughout the album. Her sound is at once commanding and evocative, vulnerable and powerful, and I was compelled to put a pause on the mix and reach out.
As it happens, Rachael and I live on separate sides of the world, but Rachael is communicative and timely, and because she has her own remote recording setup, the process of working with her went naturally and smoothly.
One great thing about Rachael is her ability to both take direction and also to be creative when the situation requires it. I had a few notated charts that she followed meticulously, and when there were difficulties with the range she offered creative - and even better - solutions to what was found in the charts. Additionally, Rachael has strengths in improvisation and was able to add additional value with background vocals and harmonies without the need for additional notation.
She nailed every chart, elevating the music to a whole other level. What's more, Rachael has an amazing versatility and was able to move seamlessly from the powerful cinematic vocals to an emotional pop track with ease. Before recording the full track, Rachael sent a test/demo to gauge whether she was close or if any changes were needed. Not only was she in the right ballpark on the first try - she knocked the whole thing out of the park.
I am excited to recommend Rachael, and I will not hesitate to work with her again on any type of project from video games to book soundtracks to film and television.
